Also check the websites they have written under their portfolio to see if they code their customers sites as Compliant. If there are no errors then you know they took to time for quality coding and you stand a better chance of getting a better site from a better company.
However if you see errors (especially alot of them) it tells you that they are coding hacks and they put out websites in volume like an assembly line and dont worry about quality just quantity, It also tells you that they probably use a site builder software or pre-purchased templates and just throw sites together as quickly as possible. If you want that kind of site go for it...
